DMCA Policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026

Fyle Transfer respects intellectual property rights. This page explains how to report suspected copyright infringement and request review of a removal.

Respecting Copyright

  • Only upload or share content you own or have permission or a lawful basis to use. Copyright complaints are reviewed using the information supplied.
  • Public file sharing does not require an account. For files shared without logging in, we may remove the reported files or disable their share links.
  • Private workspaces are created using a workspace ID and password, without collecting a name or email address. We retain IP addresses, but these do not provide a direct contact channel for uploaders.
  • For private workspaces, we may also suspend or terminate workspace access for repeated infringement in appropriate circumstances.

Submitting a Copyright Complaint

  • Email support@fyletransfer.com with the subject Copyright Complaint. Include your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • These contact details are requested when you submit a copyright complaint; they are not required to create a workspace or share files.
  • Identify the copyrighted work, or provide a representative list of works, and the exact Fyle Transfer share URLs for the material you are reporting.
  • Explain why you believe the use is unauthorized, provide a good-faith statement that it is not permitted by the owner, their agent, or the law, and confirm the accuracy of your notice.
  • Include a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or authorized to act for them, together with your physical or electronic signature.

Reviewing Reports

  • We review notices and may request missing information, remove reported files, or disable their share links. Because file sharing and workspace creation do not collect names or email addresses, we cannot directly email an uploader unless they separately provide contact details, such as when contacting support.
  • Where communication with the uploader is possible, relevant complaint details may be shared to investigate or resolve the report. Submit only information needed to identify you and the reported material.

Counter-Notifications

  • If you believe material was removed by mistake, email support@fyletransfer.com with the subject Copyright Counter-Notification, identifying the material and its previous location.
  • Provide your signature, name, address, telephone number, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal resulted from mistake or misidentification.
  • Include consent to the relevant U.S. Federal District Court's jurisdiction (or, if outside the United States, a district where the service provider may be found), and acceptance of service from the complainant or their agent.
  • We may forward a valid counter-notification to the complainant. Where the DMCA procedure applies, restoration follows its 10–14 business-day process unless notice of a qualifying court action is received.
